I don't know how they do it because I'm too lazy to read source code, but dnf's conflict resolution algorithms are so crazily good it's scary. I have borked my Fedora installation beyond repair, or so I thought, then I chrooted and upgraded and had a fresh new good install with all my data intact.

I have been meaning to answer for days now. I don't have time for a longer answer right now so I'll keep it short.

Linux AV is basically useless if you sandbox stuff and only use trusted sources like your package manager. Keep away from user generated repositories, read the news of your distribution. You can scan your system from time to time with ClamAV if you're paranoid, but no need to enable the background agent/daemon. Funnily enough I sometimes found viruses on my systems with this, but it's always Windows viruses 😹

The recent attacks on Linux always focused on AUR, COPR and similar user repositories first.

Do updates frequently and timely. Maybe read security bulletins like from heise.de or theregister.com, but focus on tailoring their feeds to the stuff you actually use. Maybe enable auto updates if you're on a stable distribution like Debian or an immutable one like Bazzite.

Oh and don't use Linux Mint as they hold back security updates or Manjaro as their quality control keeps lacking.

    Lecker Fischbrötchen. 🙃

Regardless of which compatibility layer (Proton 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, experimental) I use and if I use the native libraries or Steam's, the discovery services work, but I can't see other players in the Anomaly.

Weirdly enough, on Steam Deck it works without any issues, but obviously I want to play this on my beefy gaming PC 😥

    How can I fix this?

hi guys do you know if I by any chance could add my Keychron V1 knob to my K4 HE keyboard? I saw a mod for another keyboard (don't know where, maybe github?) with some rotary encoder, but idk if it works with the K4 HE.

also, can I use the web app offline somehow? I don't see where they have open sourced it, if they actually do. I can configure some settings through VIA but not the HE switch depth. How do I do that?

I think his soul may partly be in that game. I discovered some of his videos and immensely enjoyed his commentary and beginner friendly game analyses and was very sad as I found out three days later that he passed.

I thought about sticking a sticker onto the side with "RIP Danya 2025-10-20" but I think I want to engrave it. I have a dremel and a plotter ready, so I could design a fallen chess piece and said words next to it. Which chess piece would you use? I'd say the king might be a bit too cheesy.

What chess piece did Danya value the most? Which did he blunder the most?

Should I rather donate to his family's foundation or a local chess club?
