The code looks like it uploads and fails to make noise or light up the led strip. and the serial output is a garbled mess (I tried different baud rates with no success). I have also check my wiring with a multi meter and scoured any wiring schematics.

i am building a 3d printed Stargate with lights and sounds using a D1 mini and a DFPlayer mini. The code is from this github repo: (https://github.com/spradlinb/Stargate_3D). when i compile the code in the Arduino IDE i get a SPI error as depicted in the image. I've tried remapping the gpio pins with no success. what am i doing wrong? BTW here is a video of what i'm trying to build: https://youtu.be/y01J-hymaDs

I do want to stimulating the temperature. Also interesting theory, it would be cool to put it to the test. But I need some way to simulate a thermistor. Also, The testing rig I want to build could be a cool demonstration piece for how a thermostat works. I might donate it to some tech school when I'm done with it. Time will tell

I bought a nest gen 2 thermostat to play with a open source project that revives old nest thermostats (https://nolongerevil.com/). Since I don't want to install it into the home, because it will be a toy. I was thinking of building a test rig using a arduino or esp32 to simulate a HVAC and indoor temperature. I'm IT guy, not a HVAC guy, I think this would be a good learning project. Any suggestions?

Yesterday my 2011 Nissan Xterra pro-4x needed a jump start; although I didn't leave a light on or anything pulling power from a 12v outlet. I jumped it. But probably should of let my jump starter charge the battery a bit then disconnecting it instead of hooking it up then starting the car right away (I was tired and acted like i was in a hurry). After driving a for a bit my emergency brake, ABS, VCC, and slip lights turned on while driving at 50-60 MPH. I checked if there were any trouble codes (there were none). Also when i restart the car the lights go away until i go 50-60 MPH. Could I have screwed up the electronics? And why would my car need a jumping if there was nothing draining it? I will upload a photo of my dash with the warning lights when I get the chance.

I am going to compile everything i know into this compendium. It will cover the legality and limitations, How to obtain and digitize physical media, how to setup Jellyfin for viewing the content, and explain why owning a copy of a movie or TV show is better than paying for the privilege to access it. I would like any feedback and recommended resources that will help my research.

So I made my own alpha smart with a Raspberry Pi 400. For focused writing when my ADHD is going wild, also when I need to remove any distractions to get things done. features:

    • Word Processor
    • Dictionary search tool
    • basic Network Connectivity for file transferring
    • Web based file browser for transferring documents

I want to get some feed back and suggestions on improvements. also anyone think this could be a good product. maybe with a E-Ink screen and a mechanical keyboard.

So i built a outdoor hoop antenna to replace my cheap and crapy walmart antenna. IDK if the pre-amp fried the 5g/LTE filter or it wad my diy antenna. Is it possible for a 5g/LTE filter to stop working and filter out every channel. I orderd a new filter to see if it is the problem. Here is the antenna tutorial I followed: https://youtu.be/Tg0JjeotXq4 And the 5g filter: https://a.co/d/gwpNo2g

I have a 3d printer in my car powered by a bluetti eb3a. The bluetti is charged by the 12v outlet in my car while driving. I have a 24v solar panel i want to mount to the roof of the car. My bluetti has only one dc 7909 input. So got a a Y splitter to combine power from the car and panel. But when plug it into the car outlet that turns off when i turn off the car, the solar panel turns on the stereo. Thats not the case with the outlets that are always on. I am worried that i will danage the car electrical system from a 24v solar panel flowing electricity back into the car?

Its running off a 5v usb brick. I am trying to alluminate the way to the bathroom for my mom late at night so she won't trip or kick the household black cat. Also I ordered some PIR motion sensors to turn on the LED strip.

I am working on a WLED project, using a esp32 in a 3d printed enclosere. But my dad says that i can't install it because it is not UL listed. He is worried if the house burns down, the insurance company won't insure it due to diy electronics possibly starting a fire. What am i to do, i am not developing a project to sell?

I am woking on making solar panel mounts for the roof rack of my nissan xterra from TPU, since it can take a beating. Does any one have any experience with 3d-printed TPU threads? And how much stress before it can take before a bolt rips out? Also should i use teflon thread seal so the a bolt won't come loose?
