Broadly speaking, I'd say it's done out of fear. Voting conservative feels like staying the course and not challenging the status quo, even if it's not ideal. Voting change could be seen as a threat to "stability" even when it's a false narrative.

Basically the trees are planted on very low quality soil and are under strain, it means they're getting sick and dying/falling down.
There's signs in the park (or at least there was when I was there last) that talks about it. There's rehabilitation underway but a lot of it is management rather than trying to fix the problem and preserve the trees.
I love Hyde Park, it's going to be really difficult watching those trees slowly disappear as they die and fall down.
It's one of those "back in my day" things I'm gonna have ready when I'm old.

Oh yeah I'm fine, thanks for asking :) I accidentally tipped the bike over trying to get it onto the road from where I'd parked in a driveway and didn't do it properly....lesson learnt there!
Does anyone know a good motorcycle smash repair shop in or nearby to Parramatta? I.......might have dropped my bike and it's looking a little sad.
