Exactly. I love Souls games but I think having an option somewhere for people that need it wouldn't ruin the intended experience. Especially if there's a disclaimer before you choose it.

I'm not mad they don't have it or anything. But like, shouldn't there be a way to play if you literally can't otherwise?

I was only messing around, no need to apologise!

Potential sea lioning? That would be literally any question. And it was only the second question. And the topic is not whatsoever the type of controversial thing people would usually approach in that way.

Honestly, I bristle at the overuse of the term sea lioning. It makes the internet a much worse place if we go around assuming people are only trying to find out stuff they don't know from other humans as a malicious method to waste our time. That comic did more harm than good, imo

I guess! Possibly high effort, low reward but it could work I suppose.

Idea being those converts go on to do the work for you elsewhere.

But I still think they're just people after this stage. Lots of people become communist on their own as well. You don't need to glaze China to do it but it probably creates a bit of cognitive dissonance to see how awful it is there. So you ignore stuff like the uyghurs and pretend it's amazing so you can pretend communism will work.

As everyone else has said, there is definitely this issue on Lemmy, when criticising China and Russia especially. Happened to me a few times. It's weird.

I once did a test to see if the bias was really that bad and commented on a relevant news article on .ml something like "fuck Putin. Russia is committing war crimes in Ukraine" maybe with a couple of extra similar phrases. Comment deleted by mods with no explanation. Insane.

I could just be paranoid but I'm fairly convinced the responses weren't from patriotic citizens. I think they were paid trolls or bots, and I think their purpose was to quiet negative talking points about the countries that were mentioned.

This is a common suggestion. I can see why people say it, but I just find it hard to believe people are really spending time here to do that. Wouldn't you just go to reddit? What, do you want to convert the trekkies and Linux evangelists?

I think it's much scarier than that: some people are just fucking nuts

Now - if there is video or photos like we saw of Urban Meyer in American. Then you are caught red handed.

    Seems like there is.

Jurors were shown a slowed-down version of CCTV footage of Spencer unsteady on his feet that night and of the moments he approached the women.

Given that he "approached" them from behind and grabbed their boobs. Then he was kicked out of the club. So yeah, it's not drummed up noise.

That is the common argument, yeah.

Just going to add a bit of data: NYTS

7.1% of high school students report "current use" (meaning in the last 30 days), of those, 27.5% use daily. Works out to about 1.95% of high schoolers vaping daily. Lower for middle school. Fruit flavors are most popular (which is always true for adults too).

Cigarette smoking is down. Vaping is also down. Overall tobacco use is down.

Unfortunately no reporting on the % using nicotine there.

Honestly seems, like, pretty fine? Do you know what the youth smoking rate was prior to vapes being a thing?

    Here: 2011 data

15.8%!! Of high schoolers smoked cigarettes.

Then one day your mate says "hey try this one! It tastes just like candy floss!" But surprise 20mg you're hooked for life fool!

I think you're overstating the addictiveness here. Going from 0 to 20 mg would not be super pleasant - more nicotine makes it harsher on your throat - and it isn't that addictive. I'm sure you know people who smoked a few cigarettes without getting hooked, right? Even 20 mg vapes don't give you blood nicotine levels as high as smoking.
