Most people just want to feel important and think complicated. Europe is a very simple concept. All other connotations are colloquial in my opinion. Moscow is certainly in Europe, regardless of current politics.

I learned that Europe's furthest border to the east was the Ural. Europe is part of Eurasia. It is a geographical naming convention. Simple as that. Has nothing to do with any of the economic or political unions.

Auf anderen Instanzen wird ja genauso der Name des Projekts verwendet, statt der des Entwicklers. Ist wohl irgendwie gängige Praxis, fand ich bemerkenswert - im negativen Sinne. In den Nachrichten steht im Gegensatz dazu zB "fork it" sagt Linus Torvalds und nicht "fork it" sagt Linux.

Mir wäre es auch nicht so aufgestoßen, wenn Tesseract nicht so ein wundervoller Begriff wäre.

I do not understand why everyone is using the name of the codebase "tesseract" - which is in conflict with the absolutely wonderful concept of a tesseract - that is a four dimensional hyper cube. Why shame this beautiful word instead of shaming the name of the developer behind the fuckup? Save the word tesseract and shame the dev behind the frontend instead. Anybody care to explain their frivolity?
