There's actually a lot of free stuff out there.
Many blogs simply serve as a creative outlet for their authors. And there are plenty of tools that someone developed, others improved, and that still others put online, just because. And then there are a lot of peoples pet projects anyone can enjoy. All for free, because the only thing nicer that creating stuff is sharing that stuff.
There are just also a bunch of assholes.
Like, cuddling, caressing his chest and making eye contact, while softly telling him you like his new hair style?
Just wanted to say the exact same thing.
Projects can be treated like games too. You had some fun, learned a bunch, challenged yourself, and when there's only uninteresting stuff left; why bother?
Pfffffff. "premium disposables".
Great. The only thing we need even more urgently right now than corrupt politicians, greenhouse gases, wars, and rape is, of course, trash filled with carcinogenic chemicals.
Fuck you.
Most of that knowledge was only deleted but not saved in any other way […]
That was perhaps the saddest part about leaving Reddit. I also opted for the edit-and-delete approach, because I didn't want Reddit to use my posts to train LLMs. But man. Years of trying to be helpful, sometimes really going out of my way to address something properly; gone.
But honestly, I don't know of any alternative. Even if I archived everything, it wouldn't be as accessible to anyone as it used to be on Reddit.
Reddit had (and imo still has) a monopoly on searchable advice from strangers. There's a reason they wanted Reddits data to train LLMs.
I'd probably try to do this programatically. A collisionshape/-volume that's calculated on-CPU and a small shader reimplementing the same shape / sine wave just visually on the GPU.
This should work if:
You can also adopt the wandering clipmap solution, if the terrain will not be convex.

Where does the dept go? Into the phone.
Where do friends go? Into the phone.
Where does politics go? Into the phone.
Where does biometrics go? Into the phone.
Where does 2FA come from? From the phone.
Where does 2FA go? Into the phone.
A friend had his American friend come to visit him last year and they had me over to chill.
At some point he told a joke that didn't land and excused himself over nothing. So I said, completly straight faced, "Oh, I'm sorry, that was really funny, this is just how we laugh around here".
It was probably funnier in the moment, but the next ten minutes was me trying to keep a straight face while he was trying to get me to laugh. We were both in on the joke and it was hysterical.
Like, this is by all means a dumb stereotype. But it's pretty harmless. And if you laugh at it, it literally disproves itself.
Nein, der Witz ist, dass Deutsche keinen Humor hätten. Das ist aber nur trizen und nicht ernst gemeint.
In dem Fall ist's fast noch witziger, weil du den Witz erst genommen hast. Nimm das nicht übel. ^^
Yeah, it's a internet forum where women can vent and rave about whatever, and get to feel heard, without being berated.
And maybe you feel like it's unfair to be excluded.
And, well, look at your comment. You felt very empowered to say this, the way you did, in the space you did, with the context you had, for some reason. Why?
Why is it sooo a-okay for you to diagnose a psychological issue just for someone, on the internet, telling you they don't want to hear from you?
