I agree with your observation, and I've also met a couple of problematic people in those spaces. Maybe our humble help in this fight is to spread awareness about the importance of mental health, to help the people we personally know, to normalize the idea that we need some psychological stability in order not to hurt our efforts, etc. Perhaps even become mental health professionals so that we build a net of trusted professionals.

I've talked in this account about people I know with ASD, NPD, PDD, etc. I just saw a person with NPD/NP-traits go into "remission". They no longer behave as they did: manipulatively, fearfully, etc. They're happier and finally building strong connections. I believe it is possible for more people within our circles; not all cases, but some cases.

My first attempts were so painful that I stopped the situations. It was frustrating. I was a crazy teenager, so my amazing plan was to "fix" that problem myself with an object. This is the answer in a pragmatic sense, in our day to day. It works, it's fine. The thing is our tastes are not 100% natural and spontaneous, they can be influenced by context, and that context can be problematic. So the extra step these discussions are asking us to do is beyond the pragmatic or useful day to day advice you gave. It is questioning why we have those tastes. "Why don't I like natural cis women?", "Why am I not attracted to black people?", "Why do I refuse to date trans guys?". Etcetera. If we find it is not because of prejudices, societal expectations, 'must be's from unequal societies, or anything like that, then it's an unfortunate coincidence but we can move on. But if we find something like that (those things I listed), it is not necessarily permanent, I think most of the times it can be worked on, changed, and these discussions are also an invitation to do so.

It makes sense to me because they're describing in a simple way the thing that they don't like. If you ask why, they'd probably tell you the reason. "I don't like the way anime looks" or "I don't like the Japanese approach to storytelling" or whatever...

I agree that it is incoherent. I guess the reasons are complex, but a little peek at these may show us that we have historical attachments for animal consumption. And, then, our moral reasoning was not to end it but to make it as painless as possible (and that's the idea in many places); while you cannot make rape painless, and we don't have a historical reason to defend it either.

I prefer Interlingua because it is comprehensible right from the start if you speak a Romance language and I imagine it is sufficiently comprehensible for an English speaker. There's this saying that it is "a language you already know but have never learned". This is done through more natural semantics and syntax.

About this following part, I'm not sure, but I've heard they also call it "the modern Latin". As I understand it, in order to be decipherable to all Romance languages speakers, it employs old Latin roots (with variations). The cool part, in case this is correct, is that we all know some of these words via science, arts, philosophy... (aqua, caelum, ovum...).

What about the 'ñ'?
