I just logged in this afternoon and saw all this going on with Tesseract. Does anyone have a link to an article or summary of what is going on? I heard of this program until lemmy got a bunch of posts about it. lol

Google is using chrome to put a 3gb AI file on people's computer silently. This reports what they're doing and how to disable it if one is using chrome.

In my own experience, it's clunky and can be a pain to get running, even when using a docker. The Federation also can be a bit iffy at times.
