Just pointing out that healthcare is handled on the Provincial level of government, not Federal (although that isn't exactly the point you were trying to make).

You should also consider consequences if Ukraine loses the war. Does Russia start invading other Europeans countries, and does Canada start sending troops if that happens?

I think the sort button might be missing padding to the left/right, it looks awkward when the filter is set to one of the longer options like "NewComments"

Sort button when viewed with amoled theme

    Bug Report

Describe the issue: The nsfw filter seems to reset to Show after restarting the app. If you try to change this setting, it resets your theme to "light mode". Looking in the theme section of the app, there is nothing selected in the drop down, but at the bottom of the modified settings list, I can see my theme was changed from amoled to "darkly-pureblack".

Theme is the only setting that seems to change (asside from nsfw not persisting), and I haven't noticed changing any other settings causing the theme to switch to light mode.

    Theme reset

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Select a theme
    2. Change the nsfw filter from Show to hide/blur/transparent
    3. Restart app
    • The apps theme should now be white, and navigating to themes will show no selected theme.
    • The nsfw filter will also be reset to Show.

    Bug Report

Describe the issue: Normally there is a (D) symbol next to whichever feed you set as your default when starting the app. For some reason, this setting seems to have cleared itself and displays an error page instead.

Missing (D) symbol next to a feed

    Error screen

I think the app updating removed my default feed preference. Setting a new default feed does appear to persist.

    Bug Report

When using the search in the top right and entering text, some of the community results will be displayed on screen as unclickable text before the user selects local/all.

    1. Click search in the top right.
    2. Enter some text into the search field.

    Bug Report

    Describe the issue:

When viewing a community only 10 posts plus any pinned posts will be viewable, new posts will not load after scrolling to the bottom.

When viewing a community, more posts should begin loading once the user has scrolled to the end of the currently loaded feed.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. View a community with more than 10 posts
    2. Scroll
    3. No more posts will load, along with the message from the app informing the user that there are no more posts.

Example of the last post I see when viewing !lemmyconnect@lemmy.ca

    Bug Report

Describe the issue: Changing certain appearance settings will revert settings to default after relaunching. Other settings require the app to remain open for some time before they save.

I noticed this happening after enabling the drift database in settings. Unsure if it's related, just the first time in a while that I've made any changes to my settings.

I have tried clearing cache and reinstalling the app without any luck getting settings to save correctly.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Open settings and go to themes and turn on amoled theme (Setting that persists for me between restarts after leaving app open for a bit)
    2. Close and open app to make sure setting saved.
    3. Open settings > Post Customization > Sort: New and then close app.
    4. Relaunch app and the previous theme setting should revert to the default value of System instead of Amoled, and the sort setting will not have saved.

    Unelected leader of the opposition.

Glad the election is over with now and that I don't need to filter out as much misinformation from bots and people that don't understand how our election system works, and especially the ones that don't understand that we do not vote for a prime minister.

Wonder if he steps down as leader of the cpc or if they go for a by-election.

Younger voters that have never had a conservative government federally/Stephen Harper in power since they became eligible to vote? At least that's the way it sounds since apparently younger generations are voting more for the conservatives, any issues caused by his government aren't relevant to him/it's just the way things have always been. Harper has not been relevant since I became old enough to vote.

There's also people that don't really understand what power different levels of government have, and how much a certain level affects their lives. They likely default to thinking the highest level has the most power over what happens to them in their daily lives. Still stupid how many people thought they were voting out Trudeau in BC's provincial election. I think there was a second province that had the same thing happen during their election too.

As for older voters, the one I know voting conservative is into conspiracy theories, racist, and very "Americanized" with the media they consume. They are also very short sighted and unable to understand long term consequence, and probably thinks voting a different party into power is a quick fix. Not sure why anyone could see what is happening in America and say they want that here in Canada.

Not really sure why NDP is never really seen as an option federally, although this year they seem to be more focused on attack ads than pushing their platform which I don't really like. That could just be me though, and the way I end up getting my information.

Easy access to French media would have been helpful, like having shows dubbed in French along with English subtitles to follow along with, but the biggest advantage would have been being able to hear what words are meant to sound like instead practicing speaking French with another student reinforcing the incorrect pronunciation of a word.

I'm honestly not really sure what they're trying to say because the statement tries to say two things at once.

“That’s not much of a boycott in my book. Maybe they wanted to get a glimpse of what a Stanley Cup-winning hockey team actually looks like,” DeSantis said to applause.

Is it 3.3 million Canadians visiting isn't a large percentage of tourists or that many of us did visit despite the boycott? They're also omitting how long or how much was spent there, which may be fairly significant.

An estimated one million Canadian “snowbirds” – seniors and retirees who winter in southern states such as Florida and Arizona – inject billions in tourism spending during their months-long stays in the United States.
