I mean what are the odds that the second jury will be all irrational people? They can't just keep trying the same case forever, eventually a judge will dismiss it. Or most likely, a new jury will have majority of rational people that will likely convince the rest to just acquit. Like who wants to sit there any longer than they have to? If you don't agree with the law, as a juror you can always vote not guilty.
