Reddit limiting RSS?

I remember seeing someone from #Reddit (staffer iirc?) recently saying they were considering to remove #RSS from the platform.

Then I came across this post (in Italian):
https://thebrainbin.org/m/random/p/770945

The first paragraph picked my attention:

(Translated) Reddit is progressively blocking the access from RSS to its subs (heavily limiting the number of requests).

The OP also points out one can circumvent current limitations by using https://reddit.com/r/%7Bsome_subreddit%7D/new/.rss?feed=mytoken&user=myuser, mytoken and myuser requiring an account.

I haven't seen any other mentions on Reddit limiting the feeds. But considering what led to the Reddit diaspora in 2022, what appears to be an increasing attempt to self-destruction since, the aforementioned consideration to remove RSS, and the OP's workaround which raises privacy concerns and further risking viral IP bans, such a situation doesn't sound unlikely to me.

Still, I ask to be sure, is it something that has been happening indeed, is it a suspicious amount of coincidences, or might it be the beginning of the next stunt by Reddit?

Idk if related but started getting a 401 error in Boost for Reddit today using my own API key.

Same here, started a day or 2 ago. Are you still down or found any workarounds?

Maybe through the fediverse with @birb@rss-parrot.net? It'd be a plain RSS reader but publishing what it finds as posts.

Not ideal if the intention is to keep using the Reddit app, but if the platform you use has an app and supports the bot's posts (since they're microblogs), maybe it could be an alternative?

I’m getting errors since June 18.

They’re aggressively limiting RSS. Only 3 successful calls since then. 2 in 22nd and 1 in 25th.

I'm now more glad than ever that Reddit banned me when they did, I would have hated to see it yet again becoming even more worse.

Similar issues; my RSS won’t fully update on Reddit content. It just won’t be able to get the posts. It has been like this for a month or so.

At first I thought it was the particular RSS being buggy but then tried with multiple different ones and had the same issue.

    EDIT: Changed ''bas'' into ''has''.
