Am i understanding this correctly? They washed the floor with drumpf face, got hundreds of billions in war reparations, keep their nukes and missiles AND now charge transit fees for Hormuz Strait. If this is the usa winning, I’m going to invite you to a poker game.

Iran doesn't have nukes and the 94 year old we murdered on day 1 said nukes were anti-humanity and a sin against god.

But yes, Trump is doing the thing he should have done day 1. Instead of murdering 173 school children.

There's no reason for them to not make nukes now, perhaps they would've stuck with that fatwa if they didn't have crimes against humanity committed against them. Perhaps they are more principled than my pragmatic ass but I don't see a reason for them to not make nukes.

Probably, but we still don't have the details so it could be even worse for him!

But even before we have the details, it is clear that Trump has failed to achieve every one of the goals he put forward for this war of choice [...]

(it also hasn't been signed yet so there's still time for it to fall apart)

Almost none of that is true.

Iran had to take a almost one-sided deal.

we(I am an iranian) don't keep "our nuke" because we didn't have any.

and of course we don't limit our missiles, are we retarded or something that specially after this western war give up our one deterrent?

I don't think any fee will be placed on the strait.

Not a peace deal yet. Israel will do everything they can to derail it.

This is all grand standing to make things settle down for the UFC July 4 party. Then it will be back to killing children because something something happened. No money will be sent to Iran. Israel might slow down the genocide but only in the news.

If this administration is humiliated, I would say we’re all winners.

It's possible for us all to lose. Good chance of a famine six months from now because so much of the northern hemisphere couldn't get fertilizer during planting season and the US decided to make food for cows and cars instead of for people

If this administration could be humiliated they'd have been booted out his first term and never even been in the running again. And if not first term, certainly early last year. The writing has been on the wall for ages and everyone just keeps ignoring it.

The only way this war was going to end was either a huge escalation, or something like this. Hard to say if Trump will benefit in some way from whatever deal he made, but I he and his family have benefitted from the war already.

Mock the old aging pedo all you want, but he did this all in your name whether you voted for him or not. It's an American humiliation as much as it is a Trump one.

It's definitely an american humilation but I don't see how people condemning him for a decade are "just as" anything as the pedophile.

It's not over, not by a long shot, any memorandum of agreement on a framework to negotiate a ceasefire Israel style notwithstanding.

Israel isn't withdrawing from Lebanon for one thing. Who thinks they won't keep systematically wasting people and turn it into ghettos? The only question is if Iran will throw them under the bus and keep the straits open as Israel goes nazi on lebanon.

    Expected shitlibbery from The Atlantic.

The Iranians cagily linked Netanyahu’s war against Hezbollah in Lebanon to Trump’s war in the Gulf

Cagily? How tf is is "cagey" to link those two together?

I'll go even further: every military action taken by the US or Israel in the MENA region, from the Gulf War to the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan to the overthrow of the Syrian and Libyan governments to Israel's invasion of Palestine, Lebanon, etc, all of it is linked as part of a consistent plan to subjugate the entire region by force.

The Israelis, for their part, have been left out in the cold.

When Netanyahu planned major strikes in Beirut at the beginning of June, Trump called him, swore at him, and said, “You’d be in prison if it weren’t for me.”

Good? Are you trying to turn me into an accelerationist?

No one should trust the Iranians...

No one should trust the Iranians? How about no one should trust the Americans, who launched this attack in the middle of negotiations?

The effort to claim that this war has defeated Iran’s nuclear ambitions is merely an effort to distract from the administration’s failure to achieve regime change, which was always its main goal.

No doubt the hawks at The Atlantic were jerking themselves off over the prospect of regime change from the moment the war started, but I don't think there was ever a clear "main goal."

Had Trump toppled the regime in Tehran, he would have had the thanks of most of the world—and congratulations from even his most dedicated critics.

Jesus fucking Christ! I wrote the previous line before I even got to this! They were, in fact, jerking off to the idea of regime change, and the only problem they have with Trump bombing schoolchildren is that he backed off! What a bunch of warmongering psychos!
