I heard that baby squirrels being trusting towards humans or actively seeking out humans can be a sign of them needing help, due to being seperated from their parent. Did that happen?
Edit: I did some research, baby squirels sitting on the ground is unusual, but can be part of the mother relocating nests. If you can and this is a wild squirel, it's best to observe for a couple of minutes, and check if mom comes to pick the baby up. If you'd like to read more, I found this informative: https://squirrelforum.com/care-resources/
Or maybe you know more than me, in this case: Good job, and feel free to disregard :)
