Not the best perspective, but I love shots with reflective eyes. And yes, chipmunks are a type of squirrel.

Unfortunately a picture through a window screen, but I snapped a picture of this squirrel chomping on a bone whilst sitting on my deck railing.

It meets me most mornings for a single peanut, then it's gone squirreling for the day!

Sorry about picture quality, I didn't want to scare it by getting closer.

I was doing some birding down by the river and this little one poked out to say hello. I love these thirteen-lined ground squirrels. Their coat is so pretty.

Not happy to see me (lemmy.world)

Great Lakes region, USA. April 2026.

I was taking some photos of a black-capped chickadee and this chipmunk wanted nothing of it. It was pissed and letting me know. Too bad you're adorable and I want photos.

If our chipmunk friend won any consolation prize it was that I pulled this she demon off of me later that evening.

Our squirrely friend seems to be doing some spring maintenance. Gotta get that nest in order for the ladies.

I'm spoiled for squirrels. One of my favorite spots for birding is also an insanely populated area for squirrels and other rodents. Some are friendly and curious while others are deathly afraid. It's always a pleasure watching them.

It seems nobody found this egg on Easter. It's a beautifully painted egg. Sadly it wasn't into being admired.

Was friendly enough. Didn't mind me throwing peanuts towards them. We have a pretty big black and grey population around here; rare to see this shade of brown.
