Ramsdale White Gabriel Saliba Timber Rice Odegard Havertz Saka Nketiah Martinelli

If Zinchenko is fit, he plays for Timber. I think we'll have a lot of the ball, and thus, can expect Rice to be a stopper. Let Havertz run in the midfield and be the highest player on the field quite often, leaving Eddie available to poach some chances.

Fact is, I could easy switch Partey for Havertz, Trossard for Nketiah.

I'm naturally more defensive, so I think I'd go Partey for Havertz, and have Rice move forward more when we have the ball, Xhaka style.

But what I like most is that all these are quality options!

Partey at right back was not even a thought.

This is crazy. A formation/setup completely untried during preseason. What's Mikel cooking?

Had a wedding last night and got 3 hours sleep. It's going to be a miracle if I make it for KO tomorrow.

Really hoping we can open the season with the win. On paper this should be a pretty easy opener, but I'm worried last seasons success might have the players feeling extra stress.

Delay at the turnstiles; game starts half an hour late. Probably cuz of the new system.

Let's batter them. I would really like some revenge for our away lose.

Word is, we didn't get the paperwork done in time for Raya. Wonder if we'll see Hein or Okonkwo — and which one — on the bench then. (or possibly even Hillson)

Do you guys think we'll see a different starting 11 from the Community Shield match?

Definitely different. We don't need the defensive stability of Rice Partey, so Havertz at left 8 for me and Nketiah at striker. Rumour is that Rice isn't fully fit so we should let Partey be the 6 for the game as well.

Flo just posted the lineup on his Instagram story. Feels very backhanded to me.

Potential 3-2-2-3 with back 3. No Magalhaes, Kai and Ø behind front 3.
