Grilled cheese!

If I'm in full-on depression mode, it's buttered rice. Press a button, wait 45 minutes. Big part of why I invested in a Zojirushi rice cooker.

Cheesy tomato ramen. I found a store in Tokyo (Suginami) that makes this and found if so comforting I started making it regularly.

Fry an opinion. Add a can of chopped tomatoes, some gochujang or sambal, or any other naturally high msg sauce and reduce. Pour sauce over ramen. Cover with heavy blanket of shredded tasty cheddar.

If I or my partner have had a bad day, this is easy to prepare and usually lifts the spirits.

粉蒸肉 (Fen Zheng Rou). There's several varieties, but here's a recipe. I can't even imagine a food more comforting anymore.

Avocado toast, fried egg and hot giardiniera on top.

If I don't want to make an egg, peanut butter toast.

A box of crappy Mac & cheese - the kind with the bright orange 'cheese' powder - with a can of peas and a can of tuna mixed in, plus salt and black pepper.

It's cheap, easy to make and eat even with my disabilities, the ingredients are easy to acquire here in a food desert for my poverty-ass self/usually food pantries, plus it's comforting and nostalgic for me (since I grew up in poverty, too, with an also depressed, disabled mom lol)

Leftover quesadillas in the toaster oven

Place a tortilla on the rack, add shredded cheese, use whatever leftovers would taste good (roasted broccoli is great), sprinkle a little more cheese, and toast until melted. Add a little Cholula, fold, and enjoy.

Nutella fluffernutter. If I'm feeling paeticularly in need of a pick-me-up, I might add banana slices and nilla wafers to go full "slutternutter" as I've heard it called
