But I don't want to let it go to voice mail because then it wastes their time. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [β] LaurelRerun@lemmy.ml 1 point 2 years ago Ah, see in my opinion going to voicemail is just the risk you take if you call someone. permalink fedilink source parent [β] curiousaur@reddthat.com 1 point 2 years ago (1 child) Calling is only a waste of time if your conversationalism isn't worth the time. You see the self own don't you? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [β] JohnDClay@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 years ago (1 child) It wastes time if they're doing something more important and can't talk right now. Not everything I want to talk about is of earth shattering importance, so it isn't always worth their time if their doing something that is more important. If their time is more valuable sometimes, why is it bad that my conversation or question is less valuable than that? Sometimes I just want to catch up. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [β] curiousaur@reddthat.com 0 points 2 years ago (1 child) If they are doing something important they won't answer. Again, you don't need something earth shattering to talk to someone. It's called being social. And if you both care about each other, just catching up IS important. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [β] JohnDClay@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago Sure. But it's easier and more information dense to know if you should pick up from a text rather than from just seeing an incoming call. permalink fedilink source parent
