Explain like I am a moron. If the US is such apparently a badass super power it has never tried to take over another country to expand its influence and status? (lemmy.world)

The good guys don't do that. They project power and protect others. The US tries to be the good guys nowadays. It doesn't always work. They have a lot of citizens with different opinions and ethics, but they are heading in the right direction.

    The US also tried to coup a legitimate Venezuelan election literally like a month ago. Every single hysterical claim of fraud was thoroughly debunked by actual Venezuelans with evidence proving they weren’t even close to reality.

    And yet for weeks, Western media kept pushing the narrative and now every liberal on Lemmy thinks the election was stolen.

    Really makes their grandstanding about Kamala less effective when you realize they treat CNN as gospel.
