Many vote red but it is also all the barriers they put in the way for democratic voters. This is a deeply corrupt state.

    Yeah, it's probably the most gerrymandered state in the entire country and that's fucking SAYING something!

    The simple fact that Ted Cruz keeps getting reelected in spite of being almost universally despised should tell you all you need about the state of representative democracy in Texas..

    I was using "gerrymandered" as a synecdoche for general election tampering and ratfucking, not in the literal sense of drawing districts.

    Sorry if I wasn't being clear enough 🙂

    It means to use one in place of the whole (or the other way around). Like how sailors are called hands, cattle are heads, and most Republicans are dicks.
