It sucks that they're in so short supply they have to offer so much money and that people are so poor they need it to survive. But my little needle scars don't harm me any. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Splatterphace@lemm.ee 1 point 2 years ago (1 child) I guess I mean don't do it the max amount every week permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] ericbomb@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago (1 child) I mean we are in permanent undersupply. So everyone that is willing should do it. If everyone did it once a month we wouldn't need multi week people, but all we can really get is impoverished people doing it a ton. Welcome to dystopia! permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] dharmacurious@slrpnk.net 1 point 2 years ago (1 child) You're saying "we." Are you involved in plasma collection/donation drives/however I should phrase that? If so, I'm curious about something. I'm gay, and sexually active. I have protected sex, and I'm on prep. I do have multiple partners, though. Should I donate? Because I've always used the whole gay ban as an excuse not to, because I truly despise needles to a phobia level. But I'd like to help if I can. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] ericbomb@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago Oh I donated plasma when I could so that's why I use "we". I'm too sick now, but you almost certainly can volunteer at blood drives to help and the like, can even help organize them if you have access to a public space. You should reach out. permalink fedilink source parent [–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago I’m not the only one! Yeah it’s a rough scar from a rough time in my life. permalink fedilink source parent
