But my point is people learn a language because they need it or because it's a hobby. In either case the difficulty is irrelevant. I also never understood the idea of learning languages based on the number of speakers. You're not going to talk to millions of people. And you will find enough people that don't speak English anyways. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [+] Mikufan@ani.social -1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 child) [deleted] permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] nailoC5@lemy.lol 2 points 2 years ago (1 child) no permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [+] Mikufan@ani.social -1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 child) [deleted] permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] afterthoughts@lemmy.ca 0 points 2 years ago (1 child) This is an English forum... permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [+] Mikufan@ani.social -1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) [deleted] permalink fedilink source parent [–] afterthoughts@lemmy.ca 1 point 2 years ago That's not how it works. People who can translate between English and Russian have more opportunities because their in such few numbers. People who can translate between Spanish and English are a dime a dozen, which is why most people who speak both languages end up working service jobs. permalink fedilink source parent
