How do I block all meme communities on lemmy? (lemmy.world)

I dont like memes, they waste brain space and time. How can I prevent the home feed from being flooded by them? I block one, and 5 more show up.

To me, the internet is a place to advertise my inventions, not look at memes.

    Funny story.

    Meme was literally coined as the equivalent of a gene, but for an idea. That's exactly what current joke memes are. They fit extremely well into Richard Dawkins' original definition. So does you trying to get whatever your invention is into the public mind.

    It's just another meme.

    Oh, I see why you have downvotes now. Your post title is a fair question.

    You shouldn’t look at social communities of people as tools like that. Thats the disconnect and why you’re getting a strong reaction.
