I grew up in Phoenix so I didn't see it for a long time. It's nuts. It absorbs sound really well, so after fresh snowfall, everything is so quiet it's surreal. Being one of the few people downtown in Seattle after a big snow is creepily silent. The random people cross country skiing to get around almost seem to sneak up behind you.
