I don't agree at all with Googles relentless data harvesting and ads, but the software isn't going to make copies to hide itself on your phone and make it difficult to remove. You would be able to uninstall it like any other app without it leaving anything behind. So it is more like adware than a virus. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] atocci@kbin.social 27 points 2 years ago (2 children) Minor counterpoint - I cannot uninstall the Google app permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] IzzyData@lemmy.ml 12 points 2 years ago (1 child) What about on a Huawei phone? If it wasn't there to begin with and had to be installed I'd expect it could also be uninstalled. I don't have a Huawei phone to test it out. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] BearOfaTime@lemm.ee 10 points 2 years ago (1 child) Once Google Services are installed, it takes reflashing to remove them, because they install to system. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [+] fossisfun@lemmy.ml 1 point 2 years ago [deleted] permalink fedilink source parent [–] Dangdoggo@kbin.social 7 points 2 years ago Was just coming to say this.
