Tbf they last posted before I responded, probably havent seen it yet. Still, based on their behavior in the rest of the thread, I’m expecting either silence or some insane goalpost shift

    What he said was that Russians aren't like Ukrainians. More Asian than Ukrainians are and that they think differently.

    Context is important and your poorly translated version is NOT what he's saying. He's not saying all Asians are subhuman- he's saying they have a different past and are influenced by it. He's saying Russians are more violent based on where they come from and the past they've had. This is something he hadn't counted on etc.. etc.. etc.. since this is just a clip I don't know where he was going with it. But it sounds more like he saying ukrainian military is more humane with regards to how they treat people than the russians.

    MY point is that you and your type will just say a thing based purely on propaganda.

    It might be considered racist a bit. I don't know because I don't have the full video so not sure where he was headed with it. As I mentioned it seemed like he was setting up to compare how Russian military is treating people less humanely than the ukrainian military.

    What he's definite NOT saying is Asians are subhuman and Russians are Asians and therefore also subhuman.

    It's kind of why I said my initial comment- "oh russophobia isn't real" is a propaganda technique to try to spread the thoughts that people just hate Russians for Russians sake- when if I take an equally touted stance of all Ukrainians are nazis as being equally ridiculous.

    ? Not sure how you came to that conclusion. Asian cultures in general have a different outlook on things than say... European or American or African. That's not really a nazi talking point and that you have decided it is really is more of a you problem

    Categorizing the world into "European" and "Asiatic" is Nazi shit. Lumping Indians and Arabs and Chinese and Russians all together as one big Asian blob is just racist.

    We made them up! Eurasia should actually be a single continent, there's no logical basis for dividing Europe off from Asia other than racism.

    Like I said, lumping Indians and Arabs and Chinese and Russians all together as one big "Asian" blob has no basis in cultural reality. To then go farther and to say that Russians are more like Indians/Arabs/Chinese than they are like Ukrainians is simply incoherent.

    Christianity came from Asia. Israel is an Asian country. Think about that for a second.

    It's pretty obvious though that people from different areas of the world have different ideas from each other and tend to have more similar ideas to their neighbors and is influenced by their histories.

    Nah bud- I'm not the guy who said the thing. I agree he probably worded it poorly. I wouldn't have said it that way because I agree russia and ukraine are in proximity. I also know russia shares a LOT more proximity with Asia than any European country. I'm also aware russai literally spawned from kyiv. There's a lot going on there. Which is why i don't and wouldn't bring race/location/etc into it in the first place. Especially if my country had a history of racism/corruption/etc. But again I'm not the one saying it.

    What he said vs what you guys are trying to make it is ALSO not something I would do if my country was well-known world wide for making thin propaganda pieces out of the tiniest click bait bullshit.

    It seems you basically agree he said the wrong thing. I have no idea why you're defending him - if it's not racism, it's at least xenophobic. "They are fundamentally different from us" isn't always Nazi shit, but it's always wrong!

    Had me in the first half- I was all set to say now you get it. Then you went right back off the deep end. You live in commutopia and fail to use critical thinking. The comment about my country was directed at Ukraine and russia and there supporters/etc. if you identify as one that's on you.

    Yeah racism is wrong regardless. No it doesn't default into making you a nazi. It makes you flawed like everyone else. But it sur isn't "OMG UR A NAZI"

    I haven't checked everyone's in here but everyone I have checked has very poignant comment histories- so, so far, it's accurate to say that everyone in here arguing isn't here for anything except more Russian propaganda

    I'm in the US, so it's absolutely pointless for me to speak out against Russia. I have zero input on that side of the war. I'm an irrelevant bystander as far as Russia is concerned. What's the point of having a fair and balanced comment history?

    But I sure as shit have input on this side of the war! I speak to other English speakers about the need to end the war from our side because they might listen. I put my efforts into pointing out that we are supporting extreme nationalists and racists, because on top of being factually true it highlights the blowback potential.

    So don't be surprised when this turns out just like Afghanistan with the US funding extremists against Russia that then turn around and attack the US.

    This is how we get the next 9/11

    History repeats.

    How very myopic of you. Us isn't supporting a resistance or terrorist group- its supporting the legitimate autonomous government against an imperialistic power grab from a dying last gasp from russia.

    History does repeat itself and traditionally russia goes into steep declines after failed power grabs. I see no reason this will be different.
