If this was to be theoretically likely, most people would at least wait for their first paycheck, so they can better afford the membership. Now that they've got work, oh shit I should join the union. But ya, next day likely not, but the union didn't call a sympathy strike on day 1 either. It was many years later, lots of time to have actual representation at the store. (edit: And it looks like the food workers at McDonalds partook in the strike, so they were members by then) permalink fedilink source parent [–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 1 point 20 hours ago That's a possibility of course, but remember that when McDonalds opened in Denmark they only had 1 place, close to the entrance to Tivoli in Copenhagen, next to a Burger King that opened before McDonalds in Denmark.
