Not wanting to drive after drinking is just laziness. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 8 child comments replies: [–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 day ago Consuming a drug without a plan of how the next few hours are going to go is incredibly stupid and lazy, yes. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Dookieman12@piefed.social 4 points 1 day ago (1 child) Getting drunk without food prepared ahead of time is laziness. People safely fed themselves for centuries before delivery apps existed, they can do it now too. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] I_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world 1 point 1 day ago* Yes, and for centuries, leaving your house while drunk to go get food was a viable option because walking or riding a horse while drunk is a lot safer than driving a car. Then we got cars, and the roads became dangerous. And yes, there was a brief period where there were no delivery services from restaurants. But very quickly, restaurants realized they could get more sales if they offered to deliver food to people for reasons like the many I listed above. So to be clear, are you pining for that brief period of time a handful of decades long, between the time of cars being widely adopted and restaurants offering delivery and using that as an example for something you believe everyone should return to? permalink fedilink source parent [–] sel@piefed.social 5 points 1 day ago (2 children) Yeah bro. Before all these slop delivery apps how did anyone ever survive. Do better. For fucks sake. Such a lazy excuse. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] I_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago* They ordered pizza or Chinese or some local store that had their own delivery drivers. That doesn't exist anymore. Stores outsource their deliveries to companies like door dash. Oh sorry, was this supposed to be some dumbass "gotcha" that completely ignores reality? permalink fedilink source parent [–] Dojan@pawb.social 3 points 1 day ago People produced less, the economy was better, the climate wasn’t at this point in the collapse. People are so unreasonable for wanting to pay for convenience. permalink fedilink source parent [–] AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago (2 children) Completely impossible to get food ahead of time. Just no way to have a pizza in your freezer in case you get hungry after a night out drinking. I just spontaneously get drunk sometimes so it comes out of nowhere and I'm not able to plan ahead. I need DoorDash or I would literally starve. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] boonhet@lemmy.zip 3 points 21 hours ago The freezer pizza is nowhere near as good as a fresh pizza from a decent pizzeria though? You'd have to cook your own pizza for it to even be comparable. Like yes I always have something I can heat up at 3 AM if I'm working an all nighter to catch up on shit, but you know what tastes best when drunk? Hot fast food I didn't have to prepare at all. permalink fedilink source parent [–] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 1 point 18 hours ago Your comment literally screams "No one ever visits me and nothing I do is for enjoyment" permalink fedilink source parent
