But Gabe loves us! Surely he and his benevolent company wouldn't be petty fuck faces and go after sometime for a product they have no intent on selling!

    We don't know what they tried even they tried to get the licence retroactively. Could even have just been too expensive

    It's also very possible that Valve already has given a different company the licence to produce a similar product
