Will it be refunded if the stock looses value?

    Doubt it. Losses would probably allowed to offset taxes on future gains. But the point is that with these cash equivalents, one can sell any time to pay taxes. So it just takes a cut out of compounding gains as they grow. At the very least, we should make using any investments as loan collateral a tax event to avoid the loan tax avoidance all the 1% use.
