The freedom of speech isn’t supposed to protect you from lies, rather gives you the right to lie and cheat as long as you don’t break the arbitrary rules. It also doesn’t protect you from being personally socially persecuted by your employer, neighbors, friends and family, etc. In fact, it’s meant to protect your right to believe whatever cool and just or whatever stupid thing you want to believe. You say “oh so it was never about free speech then huh”; but no. It was never about just being able to say whatever. I personally don’t think the right to “free speech “ should give you the right to lie to children and propagandize them & then sell them stuff with cool words and fancy colors. You can’t go into a business and threaten them because they can enforce that, and it’s a GOOD thing that your “freedom of speech” doesn’t protect that. People can’t even say free Palestine or Fuck ICE, your idea of “freedom” is far different than mine.
