I want to be vegan but I hate legumes. So instead of becoming protein deficient because I refuse to eat beans, I'll just wait for lab-grown meat to finally get USDA (FDA?) approval. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 6 child comments replies: [–] Echolynx@lemmy.zip 6 points 3 months ago (1 child) Even chickpeas, lentils, or peanuts? Correct me if I'm wrong. Plus I just like steak and octopus too much. I'll wait for lab-grown meat. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 1 point 3 months ago That’s a misunderstanding due to the term phytoestrogens, afaik. permalink fedilink source parent [–] thymos@discuss.tchncs.de 1 point 3 months ago That estrogen thing is wrong. There's more estrogen in the meat people consume, far more, and you never hear anyone about that. If you're worried about stuff like that, you'd do much better avoiding PFAS, which can affect male fertility. And cause cancer and a bunch of other diseases. permalink fedilink source parent [–] discocactus@lemmy.world 0 points 3 months ago Or pre-hunter. permalink fedilink source parent
