I don't believe in what the Pope stands for but also recognize that he is not only the head of state of a foreign government, but the mouthpiece of a significant part of human tradition. This really is like the "fake news" arguments from Trump's first campaign, i.e., "I don't agree with what they say so I will attack them personally."
