Really nice system. It uses the POWER 7 architecture which has a lot of nice features including LPARs (logical partitions) (basically virtualisation without any performance penalty). I think it mattered more in the days of install cds, limited space on the disc and slow internet. Maybe it also helps them prioritise maintenance of the repositories in line with user needs. permalink fedilink source parent
