Houston has several very large venues that could host festivals. Either it was so poorly planned that they didn't get any of them on time, the attendance is expected to be so low that the venues wouldn't deal with them, or they're trying to stay out of the mainstream spotlight because they're embarrassed about something. It's still close enough that people from Houston, especially on the west side, could easily go, but there's got to be a reason they went an hour west instead of up in The Woodlands at Cynthia Woods or right in the middle of everything at Toyota or even a smaller place like White Oak Music Hall. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] AngryRedHerring@lemmy.world 12 points 6 months ago* (1 child) Bellville is also the home of Trump Burger: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Trump+Burger+of+Bellville/@29.9457928,-96.2524265,3a,75y,90.41h,82.9t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sViUc6PZ5Y46v0ZxCENCuMA!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fcb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26pitch%3D7.096840066090138%26panoid%3DViUc6PZ5Y46v0ZxCENCuMA%26yaw%3D90.41438435944255!7i16384!8i8192!4m6!3m5!1s0x864153b5846d2e6f:0x99e31ee2d650690!8m2!3d29.9455978!4d-96.2521538!16s%2Fg%2F11fv4sqcmr?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDIwNC4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D As a native Houstonian, it pleases me to see that the Houston Trump Burger was forced to close... after the owner was deported by ICE. https://www.the-independent.com/news/world/americas/trump-burger-ice-deportation-texas-maga-b2843963.html permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 5 points 6 months ago (1 child) I completely forgot about that shit. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] AngryRedHerring@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago Live in Houston, and sometimes do several weeks of work in Brenham.
