[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 84 points 7 months ago (4 children) Regardless of what excuse the ICE fascist make, there is ZERO reason he should have pulled out his gun and shot her. He didn’t want to get run over? Well how is killing the driver going to stop the car from moving? permalink fedilink source hideshow 8 child comments replies: [–] innermachine@lemmy.world 24 points 7 months ago (1 child) Yea shits all fucked up with this. I mean when he merced her, as you would expect with somebody already accelerating, she went limp and hammered down into a parked car. If she was trying to hit him when he fired and he was in her line of travel, he would have been split in half as she smacked into whatever's in front of her. If he feared for his life he would have rolled out of the way and engaged in pursuit after. This is an untrained, trigger happy goon that did not join ice to deport people for any of the right reasons. This is somebody that joined from the get to get "me liberul blood" on their hands with the full backing and faith of the us govt. Not only is it legal for them to take the life of their political opponents, but they make something to the tune of 100k to do it. Calling them political assassins is just being accurate, I mean this pig just did his country a favor by offing a "domestic terrorist" in their eyes. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] danc4498@lemmy.world 17 points 7 months ago (1 child) They’re all untrained goons. Top to bottom. That’s the problem here. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] brightwindow@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 7 months ago That's one of the problems, yes. Besides the whole brown shirt fascist militia part. permalink fedilink source parent [–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 14 points 7 months ago They are hellbent on escalation, not de-escalation - which should always be part of law enforcements job description. This is why this happened, happens, will happen again. Or, as the other reply states "untrained, trigger happy goons". Who even gave them real guns? Yeah, rhetorical q. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Eheran@lemmy.world 1 point 7 months ago (1 child) The last point is really not an argument - even if he ended up getting killed too. You could, for example, say he wanted to save others and make him an hero. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] danc4498@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago Maybe. All the comments I see defending him call it self defense. I don’t think anybody was considering she would continue aiming for other ice agents. permalink fedilink source parent [–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 1 point 7 months ago (1 child) He didn't want to get run over? Maybe he shouldn't have gotten out of his unmarked vehicle wearing a mask and brandishing a weapon and approaching someone's car and reaching into it to open the door when a woman who was pulling into the street stopped and waved at them to pass. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] danc4498@lemmy.world 1 point 7 months ago All good points. You shouldn’t be allowed to detain anybody if you are not properly identified as law enforcement. Other wise it’s kidnapping and they should be allowed to protect themselves any way possible. I doubt this country will buy that argument though. permalink fedilink source parent
