Presumably they didn't want to just replace that with an equivalent vulnerability to blackouts. Also, a battery can add to the power of a standard outlet, so these stoves can have some serious output even without a 240V connection. permalink fedilink source parent [–] stray@pawb.social 6 points 7 months ago (1 child) One of the benefits of gas is that you can still use it to prepare food and boil water in the event of a power failure due to natural disasters and extreme weather. Electric doesn't, but batteries help.
