A trope now is a widow looking at someone who passed with some longing. We’re starting to see more stories about the “AI afterlife” industry. I don’t think it’s long before movies or shows incorporate this hellscape we live into the plot. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 2 points 8 months ago (1 child) It's pretty close to the plot of Upload, where people choose to upload their personality into a hologram, so they can exist forever. I think. Its been awhile since I watched it. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Pieisawesome@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 point 8 months ago Closer to a plot of one of the black mirror episodes. Upload is more like the digital afterlife stores full memories and people, not echoes of people permalink fedilink source parent
