I'm surprised there's any scifi on the channel at all now. It's been primary wrestling for years permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] I_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago (2 children) They don't have a lot going on right at the moment, but The Expanse was the best sci-fi show in decades, so maybe you're painting with a brush that's just a tad too big. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] teft@piefed.world 14 points 1 year ago They canceled the expanse and Bezos bought it because he liked it and wanted to see the end. permalink fedilink source parent [–] nokturne213@sopuli.xyz 7 points 1 year ago (1 child) BSG was also another amazing show. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] KingOfSleep@lemmy.ca 13 points 1 year ago (1 child) ...that aired 21 years ago. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] kandoh@reddthat.com 3 points 1 year ago Noooooooo it was like 5 years tops permalink fedilink source parent [–] nokturne213@sopuli.xyz 6 points 1 year ago (1 child) But for being on their last leg for almost 25 years (of the channel's 32 year life) they sure are still surviving. Whether you agree with their programming or not they are still here. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] CmdrShepard49@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 year ago I don't really agree with this argument. TLC, MTV, VH1, History, Discovery, Animal Planet, etc are all still there despite being pretty much 100% reality TV these days. Most cable channels cycle between showing the same garbage TV and only still exist so that cable companies can brag about having 1000 channels even though they all show the same stuff and have a historically low subscriber count. They're zombie channels. permalink fedilink source parent
