When I was forced to go to church, my pastor would often joke about Baptists forming new denominations over differing opinions on drape colors. Outside of those two groups, there are tons of other flavors of Christianity. Off the top of my head you've got Mormons, Greek Orthodox, Eastern Orthodox, jehovas witnesses, and Oriental Orthodox permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] yeather@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 year ago Greek Orthodox is actually just a sub-category of Eastern Orthodox for churches that use Greek in official proceedings. Eastern Orthodox has many different churches, all considered equal, split along language, regional, or national borders. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Default_Defect@midwest.social 2 points 1 year ago Its all the same lie. permalink fedilink source parent [–] humorlessrepost@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (1 child) TIL Martin Luthor was the first Christian. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] BeigeAgenda@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 year ago Martin was the front figure, his brother Lex Luthor worked behind the scenes to get all the deals. permalink fedilink source parent
