My good landlord(s) aren't though and they were never what I would consider rich. Just doing slightly better than me at the time. And I got to benefit from their slightly above me income bracket. I think it's easier in smaller towns and cities than the big places like Vancouver Toronto and such though. The housing costs and rental costs are insane there.
