Regular weed user here.

If I'd have to describe my average weed experience in a few words, it would be fun, warm, soft, calm, soft fuzzy blanket

If I'd have to describe my few psychedelic experiences similarly (mushrooms only), it would be cold, hard, sharp, alone and from one horror trip (I was given way too much and after hours of nothing, smoked a little weed which I regretted 10 seconds later) chaos, mayhem, extreme loneliness from being the only person alive in the universe

Wife has similar experiences and after our last fucked up trip vowed to never again try it.

Are these experiences typical? I see so many positive experiences but I hated the cold and lonely feeling I had with it every time. How could I have a pleasant trip with shrooms, or say, lsd even?

Study 3a included a survey of 130 U.S. residents (64 liberals, 36 conservatives, 31 moderates), each of whom was given 100 “moral units”.
Participants were asked to distribute these units according to their capacity to empathize with and behave morally toward the categories featured in 16 concentric circles.

If you want to put these 100 units in the 16th circle then you wouldn't have any left to allocate to your family(, even if they'd be conceptually be included by selecting outer circles).
Here are the 16 circles, from close to increasingly distant :
(1) all of your immediate family,
(2) all of your extended family,
(3) all of your closest friends,
(4) all of your friends (including distant ones),
(5) all of your acquaintances,
(6) all people you have ever met,
(7) all people in your country,
(8) all people on your continent,
(9) all people on all continents,
(10) all mammals,
(11) all amphibians, reptiles, mammals, fish, and birds,
(12) all animals on earth including paramecia and amoebae,
(13) all animals in the universe, including alien lifeforms,
(14) all living things in the universe including plants and trees,
(15) all natural things in the universe including inert entities such as rocks,
(16) all things in existence.

Like most of us, psychedelics made me realize/experience that we're all one.
Christianity also helped me(, among many other things,) to realize how much of a sinner i am, so my mindset should be to live a life entirely devoted to make up for my past sins, at least as much as i can.

Now our modern civilization has erected selfishness as a pillar, as logical, as a human nature that shouldn't be changed, with our hedonistic&materialist goals, and we will( continue to) bear the expected consequences. There's a cynical machiavelism behind most selfish/nationalist decisions, instead of an insistance on researching/discovering/spreading publicly the most moral solution we could find, after important efforts mobilizing a sincerely concerned nation.
There wouldn't be any need for constitutions or laws if everyone was christian, always preoccupied with 'the common good'/'being the most virtuous'/'all of Us/us instead of them', in all situations. Of course perfection is usually unattainable, but it doesn't mean that there's any other aim worth walking towards.

Today's word is agglomeration, which is why I'm shitfucking my ass all over Lemmy Shitposts, obviously. Also, I can't make my own community for whatever reason and am open to suggestions for my content as this is my second week on Lemmy. But, a synchronicity last night said I should not do agglomeration when I rolled it this morning. I should make this propaganda on DMT instead!

Amongst the handful of psychedelics I've done, I've only consumed DMT once, while I was in the literal cult that turned me into a slave in the vulnerable mental state I was in. The aliens are having me qrite qome qropaganda about that whole story (THIS is obviously how I get famous!), and some banana synchronicities reminded me, rather directly, about that one afternoon, the one man with HIV whom made me edit his book for "free" (in the community's cryptocurrency) brought out a big bag, maybe an ounce or two, of DMT and we smoked it in the one dorm on the property I THOUGHT was this revolutionary environmental nonprofit creating their own cryptocurrency, which was also a ruse, I found out

Strange what being lied to does to a person. But, this afternoon we took a break to go sit in a circle and take a hit from a pipe with weed and some of this stuff on top. They had previously drugged me on Halloween with an unknown psychedelic substance and put me in a state of extreme remorse, which made me a workaholic for them. Obedient. Yet, this was more pleasant, and I took as big of a hit as I could without taking from anyone else, to then release and lay back on the floor.

The most noteworthy thing at the smallish dose I had were the visuals. It started with me seeing a field of mesh strings which turned into the Buddha. He was happy. He then turned into a gold coin and began spinning, faster n faster until it broke "forward" in my vision, to create a black hole that bent ahead of me, behind my eyelids. I gazed outward/inward infinitely, to be told I was not ready for the big revelations, and things returned to mostly black, with some elevation in my mood.

A door opened. I felt it as I heard it. I then looked, and I FELT the trees outside, like there was an aspect of my consciousness that was reaching out now to make contact with the perceivable boundaries of the world I lived in, to gleam insight from them about their nature, but it was so fleeting, and soon after we were up and working again.

I've come to understand the topological matrix (reality making the "simulation") we are not IN but rather ARE, to some degree, having read things like sutras talking about concepts of "contact" in regards to perception and experiences both on n off substances that have led me to understand the relativity of my operating system and the entanglement process of Karma, and I can say that psychedelics let higher beings contact you in ways that make you understand them, or perhaps more accurately, these substances offer altered mental states that act like dazzle camouflage for these beings to contact you without worry of Knowledge spilling, becuz ur jist hi d00d!

Now what's on the news? I just want to know what reel things are going on in the world they say exists, but I Know is an illusion.

Has anybody managed to find a good schedule/regimen that provides the reported benefits of microdosing mushrooms, but allows you to also trip once a month without having to adjust the dose to be higher to account for tolerance built up by microdosing?

I'm trying to find a balance that allows for both ways of interacting with the stuff.

From James Fadiman's book on microdosing:

To speak about “microdosing” cannabis (marijuana) is a misuse of the term. The mechanisms, biology, and effects of cannabis are unique, complex, and powerful, but it does not resemble microdosing substances nor does its use provide the same range of benefits. Microdosing specifically refers to taking very small amounts of a psychedelic on a specific schedule over a number of weeks. The same term applied to taking a little bit of cannabis has nothing to do with actual microdosing. The effects and benefits of cannabis are totally different from the effects of psychedelics. Cannabis—the whole plant and a number of its different alkaloids—has been used successfully as a medication for many conditions. Good books on “medical marijuana” are available.1 Cannabis acts on and through the endocannabinoid system and affects the brain, body, and whole being differently than substances like LSD and psilocybin. Cannabis generally impedes neuroplasticity rather than enhances it. Brumback et al. (2016) conclude that “THC appears to block synaptic plasticity and neurogenesis”—the exact opposite of microdosing’s effects. Conor Murray’s 2024 research, discussed here, showed that LSD increased neural complexity, but THC did not. Cannabis is generally not taken with any standard protocol (days on/days off). People report “microdosing” cannabis throughout the day. None of this is microdosing. Moreover, THC is fat soluble and stores in the body’s fatty tissues and is detectable weeks after one stops using it. LSD and psilocybin are gone from the body within a day or so. Effective protocols are not possible because of this persistence. Conscious use of very small amounts of cannabis can be a rewarding experience or valuable practice, but it’s not microdosing.

I was wondering what would be the use of smaller doses of THC, like 1-4mg, maybe balanced with CBD, I am completely out of the topic of medical marijuana but seeing the improvements it did on me on a casual trial, I was wondering if any of you knew more about this!

Abstract

Established by the 1971 United Nations (UN) Convention on Psychotropic Substances, the prohibition of the recreational use of psychedelics (lysergic acid diethylamide [LSD], psilocybin, N,N-dimethyltryptamine [N,N-DMT], and mescaline) has two premises. First, recreational use poses a serious threat to public health because psychedelics are highly liable to addiction and abuse. Second, psychedelics have only limited scientific and medical uses. In this article, we raise the following questions: are these premises true such that prohibition is justified? If not, are decriminalization and legal regulation justified alternatives? Drawing on interdisciplinary research, we show that the premises of prohibition are false. Psychedelics are not highly liable to addiction or abuse, and so recreational use is not a serious threat to public health. Moreover, the uses of psychedelics exceed medical and scientific uses. Prohibition, we conclude, is therefore unjustified. We then show that decriminalization is based on the same false premises as prohibition, that legal regulation is based on weaker versions of these premises, and thus that both alternatives entail unjustified restrictions on recreational users. Finally, we present a fourth approach: communalization. This entails that all adults have the freedom to recreationally use psychedelics without restrictions and that communities provide harm reduction and benefit enhancement services to support this freedom.

Holy moly, they actually did it, awhile back I saw a research paper about the possibility to make designer psychedelics which don't have the hallucination issues but still provide the neuroplasticity benefits, and now of what little concerns there already were for it's safety, are now less of a concern.

Does anybody else have a theory about the subjective effects of cannabinoids? The linked page is a summary of my theory. This is based on my recent cannabis journey. Curious to hear any comments or feedback. Does it match your experience or not?

PLEASE DON'T DOWNVOTE WITHOUT ENGAGING. IF YOU DISAGREE, PUT THAT IN A COMMENT.

Since I enjoy cannabinol (CBN), I'm curious to learn about the acetylated version CBN-O. I've heard that CBN-O is stronger than CBN, but can anybody suggest anything more specific? Is CBN-O 10x stronger than CBN? What about duration? Is CBN-O more than 8 hour duration?
