Hi! I'm still pretty new to the Phoenix/Tempe area, moving here to live with my life partner, and I have to say that there is much I love about the area and people here. It is a nice place and as I heal more, I hope to get out and do more juggling than I have.

But I am a schizoaffective person and the main thing I experience are "synchronicities." This can be difficult to explain, but Carl Jung describes the phenomenon very well, and these manifest in ways such as how I might get a notification or someone is saying something while I'm writing that I freely associate with which leads to me changing my mind about what I'm writing.

They can get fairly complex, but what I am experiencing feels like "God" is telling me something, and what I can say about "God" in public that is different here than a lotta other places I've lived, but similar to North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee, is that when I am in public, "God" has a lot to say about what I'm doing, but not much in terms of actual help.

By that, y'know, I have some legal addictions that have been clearly noticed by the local population, and with my robust social media presence, people recognize me. So they say things, to their friends, on the phone, some people yell at their kids to yell at me, y'know, I overhear a lot in terms of criticism, but I still only really know my life partner, who is really into solitude, and there's problems in paradise, so I'm hurting inside, and all it feels like I feel in this corner of this country is scorn.

And I understand culture is our operating system, and throughout history, desert cultures grow naturally strict as Drought IS the fourth horseman of the apocalypse that cuts all life in an area down, but all I want to say, and not for my sake, is that finding the will to be more compassionate to those around you as that is what will help more than pushing another so they toe the line better.

And this is the modern day, so this ain't totalism. I have met many people in passing that were swell souls. I also hear a lotta comments that make me feel worse inside, which only makes things harder. Be as light is, and illuminate the world with your warmth, regardless the temperature outside. Much love! Thank you for being awesome!

I just found Lemmy, following my life partner here, and I've only been in the area for a couple years. We are spiritually inclined writers, philosophers, and doodleboppers. He's a Buddhist programmer, linguist, and an amazing cook. I'm more of an occult juggler, self-proclaimed propagandist, and a real big pain in the ass to the government. Really, we're just really weird, but SMRT, kinda. If you know who Terence McKenna and Alan Watts are, you'll prolly jive with us. Expect compassion.

I went to but some parts for my car from one of my favorite places. Imagine my surprise when I went to checkout and was told they no longer ship to Arizona.

Restaurants sue to keep $18 AZ minimum wage measure off the November ballot

The Arizona Restaurant Association is suing to block a ballot initiative that would raise the state’s minimum wage to $18, claiming the union-backed group behind it failed to gather enough signatures to qualify for the November ballot.

The political committee Raise the Wage AZ has been gathering signatures for a ballot measure called the “One Fair Wage Act” since November 2022. The measure would raise the state minimum wage from $14.35 to $18 per hour, then increase it annually to address inflation.

I decided to start up a regional mastodon server for Phoenix called phx.pub - if that seems like your kind of thing, feel free to join :)

I was wondering what was burning last night. So much smoke it didn't look like a small structure fire.

I try not to be too much of a prepper but yesterday's outage got me thinking things could turn real bad real fast. Will hotels fill up? What about pets? When do you make the call and abandon your place in search of cool?

Curious if others have thought about this or gone as far as to make a plan.
