Before i break out the solder gun and make one myself, i wanted to ask. Is there a unit that uses magsafe magnets that does wireless charging pass through? The idea would be to have this device on the back of a phone and when a charge is applied while it's on a phone it passes the charge through to the phone.

If I understand correctly line of sight, and height, are key to extending how far you can transmit. What tricks have others used to gain height around their area? I'm kicking around a lot of ideas that range from a flagpole in my backyard to asking the local musicality if I can mount a node on our water tower. What has given you the most success for extending range in a tricky area?

My work flow depends heavily on Win + V and Win + Shift + S, both on my main desktop and RDP'ed into other Windows systems while sharing a clipboard. I'm interested in trying Linux as my daily driver, and I am looking for suggestions that will offer the least friction in how I operate. The above items are must haves and my hope is that the solution "just works" without having to set up a whole mess of macros or workarounds.

I am familiar with Debian and Ubuntu, so Linux will not be a new experience for me, though most of my work has been from command line interactions. My hope would be a distro I can stand up in a few hours that will let me continue to RDP into Windows systems and keep using Windows hot keys on both the Linux desktop and the Windows systems.

I recently did a range test with the antenna that ships with the P1 Pro and it's not bad but i'd like to get more from the unit if i'm able to. More height isn't really an option at this time so i'm looking for other ways to increase range. The area i live in is farley hilly but the node sits up higher.

I'm on a budget and i'm looking to mount a node on a pole in my back yard. I have access to a 3d printer, i have soldering skills, and i'm okay with buying individual components and assembling them myself. I'd like it to look nice but it doesn't have to if that keeps costs down.

The first goal is reliability, i won't be able to easily access it once it's up. The second goal is cheap, i'm on a fairly tight budget. It's possible the device might be in wifi range where it's mounted so that would be a nice bonus.

The sensor i have let's you set zones which work width wise but not height. What i would like to do, if able, is mount the sensor waist height or a little higher and block the top and bottom of the sensor so i only have the middle 20° being used. Can this be done with foil or metal?

I'm looking for a foss self hosted music service that will let me play music from my computer, my phone, and home assistant all while remembering where i was in the song and where i was in the playlist. Ideally it would be as simple as hitting pause on one and play on the other.

I'm looking for a self hosted calendar that supports multiple users, runs in docker, and is easy to integrate into home assistant and a phone app. Does anything like this exist or should i lower my expectations?

I'm not sure where else to ask this other than maybe self-hosted, so let me know if I'm in the wrong place. I'm trying to overcome a minor issue with Jellystat. Coming from Plex, I used Tautulli fairly heavily, and one of the features I'd use for various internal monitoring was the IP address tracking. Jellystat has IP address tracking, but unfortunately, due to the structure of my network, it only shows the address of my firewall when the connection is coming from outside my network.

I'm fairly sure this isn't an issue with Plex, since their site does the authentication and the service exits through NAT port forwarding, but with Jellyfin, I use a reverse proxy to route all external traffic as needed. I'm open to additional software or different methods of tracking, but I'm not sure where to start. Any advice would be appreciated.

I've seen a couple articles about an android tv alternative and it's got me thinking about a streaming box again. A while back i gave kodi a try and didn't care for the experience. Granted, it was on a pi so expectations were low but it missed the mark for me. This time around i've got a modest nuc with proxmox i was thinking of moving to the living room and standing up a fresh vm of kodi to stream to.

I could just access the files over the network but i'm already running both plex and jellyfin so why not use either for my watch history. All that being said is kodi still my best bet?

Why proxmox? At some point down the road i'd like to get a capture card in the mix to stream games and that feels like the most flexible way to do everything.

I have a routine that plays an audio file on the top of every hour and it worked great for the first few days but lately the audio has been lagging or stuttering. At first i thought it was because i was using an old chromebook in kiosk mode but my home assistant voice is doing the same thing with voice replies. Any idea what could be causing this? Home assistant is being ran as a vm on my hypervisor and the audio file in question is an mp3 saved locally in the media folder on home assistant.

I'm duplicating my server hardware and moving the second set off site. I want to keep the data live since the whole system will be load balanced with my on site system. I've contemplated tools like syncthing to make a 1 to 1 copy of the data to NAS B but i know there has to be a better way. What have you used successfully?
