Plumber said he would come after lunch and give me an hour notice. This is after he was supposed to come last week and just never showed up. Then it took him 3 days to message me acknowledging that he didnโ€™t show.

Itโ€™s 4pm now, still no news. Wonโ€™t be giving him another chance. Uggh why is organising any trade always so painful?

I wish I had your level of sleep. Woken up very early this morning by one of my smoke alarms making a low battery warning sound. I swear that anytime this happens with any of the alarms, it's always in the middle of the night. Then took ages to get back to sleep. Alarm was neighbour's dog barking, the next door house is doing some sort of the renovation work and as soon as the trades turn up in the morning, the dog starts going off. Just a terrible night of sleep really.

Going for an evening walk before dinner as itโ€™ll be a while before itโ€™s light at this time. Love daylight saving, I will miss it.

Needed a change of scenery with doing work (going a bit troppo doing WFH all the time) so brought my laptop to a local cafe. This cafe is more coffee and small eats rather than full-on brunch, so thought it would be fine. Half the tables in here aren't taken.

It's interesting how working / studying from cafes in Australia isn't really a thing. I get why (table turnover). I remember when I was in the US it was very common to walk into a cafe and see a lot of people with laptops. Didn't seem to be an issue in Japan either.

Skies darkening. Thunder in the distance. Heavy rain radar blob heading my way. Itโ€™s been a while.

This weather also matches my mood, Iโ€™ve had the worst long weekend. Need an evening of self-care with background rain.

Just witnessed this moronic person next to me use his phone on 5G while we were descending into Sydney. I donโ€™t think he switched his phone to flight mode at all during the flight, was just waiting for the reception to kick in during the flight. I wouldnโ€™t call myself an anxious flyer but I really didnโ€™t like witnessing this behaviour. Maybe this is more normal than I think?

This coffee ain't doing it. And the tiredness will continue for a couple of days more. 7am flight to Sydney tomorrow, and another early-ish morning on Wednesday before coming home. Easter break will be for sleeping.
