I was posting for the sake of sharing laughs but some power hungry mod wasn't having it and was bending over backwards, flexing their power to make it stop and an example out of me. It wasn't on feddit.nl but on another quite big and popular instance. Then i also had the occasional run ins with unmoving lemmitors who left quite shitty and uncalled for comments on my posts so i deleted it all and quit. Bleh.

Imo, if we want a big community we must treat each other with dignity and respect. Perhaps ask ourselves why someone posts something before leaving these quick and easy jabs, and also appreciate that people post to begin with (even if we may not necessarily like the posted thing). I'm pretty easy to demotivate with this kind of negativity and i bet I'm not the only one.

I like feddit.nl but had some negative experiences with users on Lemmy when i posted some content myself. Unfortunately that has soured the experience for me quite a bit and since then i mainly lurk. I don't take feddit for granted though, but I question whether lemmy is the place for me.
