If you're getting into 3D printing, you're going to have to play with settings. I'd also recommend getting real good at printing non-2A things before you even think about printing something that can blow up in your face.

Playing with PCTG, and aside from the glossy finish and PET family tendency to get gooey, it seems to be a pretty solid polymer for this sort of stuff. Haven't shot this one yet, but have beat up on it on other parts and have been fairly impressed.

There are already a couple drop-in grips out there. They didn't sort out my broken trigger guard issue and I wanted to be able to try a few different grips. I'll probably end up with my zero angle/upright AR grip when I find it. I just threw the Hogue on there since it was handy.

Yep, and a couple others as well. Some of the remaining are getting repeated "Rule 7" flags on things that clearly don't violate anything, so they're on the chopping block as well.

Thanks! Not my first go on Lemmy, this is just my fosscad persona. Reddit is shitting all over what made it popular and driving folks away in droves.

Might be time for puts? calls? (whichever one bets against the stock, I was never any good at the market) on RDDT.

Ideally, they shouldn't. There is nothing illegal about designing a firearm or firearm accessories. Manufacturing them depends on your location and applicable laws, but they're the same laws that govern store-bought or private transaction purchase of commercially manufactured arms.

Lemmy, being decentralized and community driven, has no culpability for the discussion of lawful and (at least in the US) protected activities.

With reddit banning fosscad/diy related subs, folks are seeking alternatives. I'll try to keep a list of the more active ones in this thread, and of course we welcome content here as well.
