You’re not getting out of this by voting every 2-4 years and behaving in an orderly fashion in the in-between.

Organize. Find out how you can hurt red state money and go out and do it. Money is the only thing that they care about protecting.

Thank you for saying this. I’m glad that the realization is finally permeating.

Vote when you can. But the chance of a center-left democrat half of the time is nowhere near enough to restore the generational trust lost. People who care deeply must organize, protest, and dismantle these systems so they cannot be used again in the future of coexistence we hope to achieve.

Show us with actions. Stand up for your own people at risk, and for those US expansionist politicians and their sycophants are targeting around the world.

Only if they can figure out how to emulate CUDA. Or maybe more containers will start providing alternatives if the machines are popular enough?

There’s still a lot of image and OCR workflows I have to chug through the CPU and it takes forever.

One of you doesn’t think Google has the resources to bypass the Cloudflare anti-scraping bot mechanisms. The other one does.

Please be civil and state disagreements clearly. Clearly nobody on Lemmy roots for Team Big Tech.

They can do their worst. I didn’t buy so much as a US sweet potato from the grocery store this week. Sure as hell isn’t going to be a car or an appliance from any company moving out of Canada.

For example, on pretty much every food blogger site: https://www.realmomnutrition.com/change-camp-snacks/

This style of anti ad blocker injects JavaScript that will replace site content with a warning to disable ad blockers.

Firefox-based browsers and ublock origin have no issues but with the related domains blocked at the DNS level I’m hoping to find a solution for family phones, and for other family members and guests who still use Chrome-based browsers that can’t negotiate script blocking.

No, I don’t think this is incredibly likely to happen. But like how some disaster prep agencies model zombie outbreaks to get people thinking about hurricanes and earthquakes, it’s a good thought experiment.

Let’s say out of the blue there’s an executive order that prevents US tech companies from servicing Canadian customers.

How hosed are you? Would you have access to backups of family photos not on Apple or Google? Does your email still work? Can you access your password manager? If you have a domain registered, is it still pointable to your servers?

I ask this because I’m trying to train myself to look for Can/EU alternatives in my tech stack for work and personal life.
