I'd like to believe there would be some carve out here for willful ignorance. Like if the truth is easily accessible and you choose to believe contrary to that because of some other thing, maybe you don't get grace on that.

I have a plan: we pass a law that any contract intended for the public (ToS, various other terms and conditions, privacy policies, etc) must be at the average reading level of the American public. We'll either incentivize better education or better contracts. Maybe both!

Steven Universe was the first show that came to my mind too. And my issue isn't, "They should have murdered the diamonds." No one said that in this post or thread.

However, the fact that they just get forgiven with basically no consequence is a problem. Consequences don't have to be murder. But they kind of just agree to do the right thing from then on, while still staying in charge. We all know none of it works that way in the real world. There's no combination of words that someone could say to, for example, turn Trump into a good person.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one seeing this. "Technology" wasn't the problem, the problem was "learning platforms" that don't actually teach anything useful, and the fact that teachers weren't the time or resources to actually integrate it meaningfully. Just throwing kids at Blooket or whatever nonsense software the district paid for is not "integrating computers into the classroom."

I mean they're just some number in a database Elon owns. Would anyone be surprised if we find out he inflates his numbers?

Interesting but I'm going to predict this goes nowhere. It doesn't look like the US has excessively high Alzheimers rates compared to countries that use less cars. The Netherlands still has plenty of Alzheimers diagnoses. I feel like you'd expect to see more regional variation if we could tie it to something like tires.

Also other than a few outliers (gaming) IT and development jobs have been pretty good in recent history. There hasn't been much push for change until the circumstances shifted.

On the other hand, wheels aren't just on cars. Shopping carts, toys, luggage, some step ladders, and more. I'm going with wheels.
