I dont like AI, I wish I could go back to the world before it, but I cant.

You do know that you can use LLMs to get inspiration and suggestions but then still implement those things by hand? Which is also a great way to make sure it doesn't change something else in the background. Also, if you use Claude like you've used StackOverflow and Google before, you don't even have to mention it as a Co-Author.

    dovecot/dovecot and solr should do the trick. At least they do for me.

    EDIT: Two advantages of this setup for me: I can easily drag&drop emails from my other email accounts to this "archive" account in Thunderbird. And once I want to "seal" an archive folder, I can gzip the underlying mbox file and make it read-only (dovecot needs to be configured to store mails in mbox files).

    Do you know about the MAILTO= lines in crontabs? That's exactly what they're there for. (And your script needs to output error messages on failure, of course.) You'll need a local mail forwarder like ssmtp or exa, though.

    While looking for some alternatives to Swiftfin and Infuse, I've found these:

    Reefy - mentioned here / GitHub
    Fork of Swiftfin as the author was fed up with the lack of updates.

    £1.99/month, £29.99/year (looks like there's a discounted option at £14.99/year), or £39.99 for life.

    The maths is not quite mathing here as the for-life IAP is £39.99, the familiy upgrade is another £39.99 which makes £79.98 total

    but the "family-for-life" option is £89.99 for some reason. (Makes you wonder whether this was vibe-coded.)

    [iOS 26 RC] Anybody got Live Translation? (lemmy.ml)
     

    I can't see any mention of the feature being delayed. I'm on the iOS 26 RC, I'm on an iPhone 16 Pro with Apple Intelligence, and my AirPods Pro 2 are on the latest beta firmware 8A343a. So, I believe it should work. (As per Apple's availability overview.) Yet I don't see any option to enable it in Settings or in the iOS Translation app.

    Has anyone figured it out yet?

    Now with Trakt doing their best to get rid of their non-paying users, I'm looking for self-hosted alternatives to track my movie/show catalog and my progress in watching it.

    So far, I've found:

    • devfake/flox - the original, hasn't been updated in 5 years
    • Simounet/flox - fork of flox - started further development early 2024, added ActivityPub, reviews and some more features
    • MediaTracker - "highly inspired by flox" and also tracks books and computer games

    These all come with (one-way) Plex integration to track what you're watching.

    Before trying all the other ones mentioned in MediaTracker's README - is anybody using one of those already? Or some similar product?
