From the article:
...the $56.7 billion in cuts across the federal government is balanced by an almost identical $58.8 billion boost in the Department of National Defence’s budget... Carney has pledged to spend a staggering $470 billion over the next decade under the Defence Industrial Strategy.
This article doesn't discuss nuclear safety. This writer's previous work on federal nuclear investments did:
...in a press conference on May 26 with the Kebaowek First Nation to denounce the construction of the disposal facility, raising concerns about the high cost of $1.5 billion, and the risk of leaks into the drinking water of downstream communities, including Ottawa.

Hi, this is provincial. The Ontario Progressive Conservative Party is in power here.
The Palestinian community, which the article is about, doesn't enact embargoes. The community and Palestinian solidarity activists call on governments to enact an arms embargo. A second debate was uploaded by Rogers TV just after we published today. This one includes more of the Ottawa-Centre candidates, but the Progressive Conservative one didn't show up again.
A second debate has appeared! Shortly after publishing the article on the Glebe Community Association's debate, Rogers TV uploaded one. This one includes additional candidates, but the Progressive Conservative one didn't show up again.
Watching the candidate's debate, I keep thinking about how they stuck them all elbow-to-elbow at the tiniest table. It would have been even more squished if the Progressive Conservative candidate actually showed up.
This linked to the featured image and not the article. This was just corrected! https://leveller.ca/2024/10/living-off-the-community-land-trusts/
